Moms play a huge role in wedding days so in honor of Mother’s Day, here is a list of my top 10 must have wedding photos with your mom.
I love getting ready photos. You can just see the excitement building as the bride gets ready to walk down the aisle, and it’s a great photo-op with mom. Mom’s can be included with matching getting ready outfits, such as robes, flannels, PJs, etc to help them feel included. I also always love capturing the emotion as mom zip’s up her daughter’s dress, or places the veil before the ceremony. It’s also the perfect time to give your mom her gift.
While moms spend most of the morning in the bridal suite, another must have photo is mom pinning the boutonniere on the groom. It’s always a sweet moment between mother and son.
As the processional starts, getting a photo the groom escorting his mom to the end of the aisle is another must have photo.
Tradition calls for the father of the bride to walk her down the aisle and “give her away”. But in modern times, you can do what YOU want for your wedding. Closer to your mom than your dad, or have you lost your dad? Mom can walk you down the aisle.
When it comes to planning a photo timeline and list, one of the most important parts is the family photo list. Keep it organized can help stay on track with time and ensure no photo is missed, including a photo with mom.
Planning on sharing a formal dance with your mom? Then it’s another must have photo!
Having a photo of mom toasting to you and your new spouse makes the list. Toasts can be sentimental or funny, and sometimes both, so capturing the moment is important.
Is your mom opting out of making a speech? No problem. While everyone’s attention is front and center, I find some of the sweetest moments to be mom watching in adoration as dad’s make a toast or dance with the bride.
Wedding days are emotional for moms as they see their babies all grown up, but I always love seeing moms showing off their moves on the dance floor. What better way to celebrate such a joyous occasion?
In the unfortunate event that your mom has passed before the big day, there are so many ways you can include and honor her, such as a memorial photo charm added to your bouquet, or a butterfly release.
Well there you have it – my top 10 must have wedding photos to get with your mom. This is just a small list of ways you can include her on your wedding day.
