The thought of having a boudoir session can be intimidating! When talking to women about their session, I get asked all kinds of questions. So I wanted to compile a list of my 12 most frequently asked questions to give you some insight on preparing for a boudoir session with me! Don’t see your question answered? Leave a comment with the questions you have and how to reach you so I can do my due diligence!
The choice is yours! If you’d prefer to keep all of your images private, I will of course respect that choice. Your privacy and comfortability is my top priority. Each client I photograph signs a “Model Release Form” which allows them to select whether they want their images to stay private or they allow me to share them. I am so grateful for those that do allow me to share their images, as it shows other women that have not experienced boudoir before what their images might look like. But again, this is 100% your choice and dependent upon your level of comfort with image sharing. And you don’t have to decide until you see the final images!
You definitely don’t have to wear lingerie, it depends on your personality! You can wear lingerie, a cocktail dress, a t-shirt or button up, just a sheet, or nothing at all. The options are endless! Whatever you feel comfy in is totally fine. And don’t forget, we have a huge client wardrobe with over 250 pieces in all different sizes, styles and colors for you to borrow during your session! Plus, after booking we send out a wardrobe guide with a ton of info to help you decide what to wear.
Yes, Ma’am! Actually, most of our clients hop on a payment plan because it just makes more sense for the budget to spread payments out over time, then by the time your session rolls around it’s all paid off and no need to swipe a card for a large purchase at the end. It’s like a pre-paid gift to yourself! Of course you’re also welcome to make a lump sum payment, just keep in mind the balance is due at least 30 days prior to your session date. You can schedule your session up to 12 months out, and we also accept all major credit cards, Klarna, Affirm, and Afterpay!
Girl, yes. I would be doing you a disservice if it was not! Feeling and looking your best for a boudoir session starts with glam by our amazing Makeup Artist Jennifer Serra. She is truly the best, and can help you complete your look, whether that’s “I just woke up like this” or Full on glam! You can bring any ideas you want for your makeup and we can use it for inspiration!!
I edit your images for light, exposure, and color balance. I also do skin soften and remove any temporary blemishes or bruises, and smooth out any lumps and bums caused by wardrobe. You will be magazine flawless however I do NOT change or alter your body. Part of the process of accepting yourself and seeing your beauty also means not photoshopping yourself into a different person. If there are parts of yourself that are learning to love and aren’t thrilled about, that is okay! We are skilled in posing and lighting to make you look your absolute best and brings out your shine!
When it comes to shopping, these days most lingerie stores are online. Kind of a bummer, I know. But some of my favorite places to shop online for lingerie for a boudoir session are SavageX.com for all body types, HoneyBirdette.com for luxury styles, and Yandy.com for unique looks. I have a much longer list in the wardrobe guide I send out after booking, or you can even add on personal shopping as a bonus! If you go down the SheIn rabbit hole, just be sure to read reviews and be prepared for the pieces to be one-time use LOL. If you are looking for something specific that you can’t find, let me know and I might know where to get it!
We offer a variety of luxury products, and our most popular are heirloom quality albums and metal prints that our clients love. The albums range from 5×5” to 9×12”, and these are our clients’ favorite printed options. These albums will last your life time. Can you imagine opening up your album on your 80th birthday and seeing all the beautiful art work you created? So much more impactful than looking at them on a tiny screen. Metal portraits start at 8×12” and go up to 24×36”, so how boujee do y’all wanna get?? And I know you’re gonna ask, so, YES you absolutely should be putting up your boudoir photos in your home! They are magnificent to look at and will truly continue to build your confidence up as you look at them daily.
Each Collection includes printed products, and most of them include Digitals as well. We also offer Digital files A La Carte if that’s all you want, or you want to add it on to another product. Digital files are delivered in a downloadable online gallery, or as a mobile app depending on which option you select.
Girl, breathe! I know it’s scary to be like, “let me just dress down to my undies and let this lady take my pictures…” LOL but trust me, once you do it, you’ll be kicking yourself for not doing it sooner. Nerves are all part of the experience! I always say that it would probably be weird if you WEREN’T nervous. The nervousness in the beginning of your shoot make your moment of “WOW” seeing your photos for the first so much better! If you want to calm your nerves, make sure you are in our VIP group on Facebook where you can scroll through other client’s experiences.
Every session includes 2 outfit changes, sometimes more depending on what collection you choose and how many bonuses you want. If you want to bring your own items, we can help you decide which will look best! If you don’t want to bring a thing that is fine too – We have a HUGE client closet with sizes XS-5X.
You should always plan on getting to your shoot ON TIME but not early. We spend the morning setting the studio just for you! We won’t be ready early. Don’t forget to plan for traffic so you don’t feel stressed or like you’re running late, though!
